The Alnwick Rum Christmas Pudding is the ultimate luxury festive treat – good enough to be eaten all year round! Exclusive to The Proof of the Pudding and made to a family recipe, the pudding is packed with top quality dried fruits soaked for two days in a generous quantity of the Legendary Alnwick Rum. Combined with fresh apples, oranges, lemons and carrots and slowly steamed in the old fashioned way to create a perfectly delicious pudding which has a light texture and is moist, and not too dark. Contains beef suet. This product will keep for 12 months in a cool dry cupboard.
Made to a family recipe on a Northumberland farm by Susan Green, who refuses to swerve beef suet, this lighter-style pud had the tasters in ecstasies. ‘A most attractive pudding. You can taste all the different flavours.’ The generous slug (6 per cent) of Alnwick rum also drew accolades: ‘You can tell that everything has been steeped in alcohol. Ingredients and Allergens Advice
Dried Fruit 27% (Raisins, Sultanas, Currants), Free range EGGS, Soft brown sugar, Alnwick Rum 7% WHEAT flour (raising agents: E500 and E450), Breadcrumbs (WHEAT flour, salt, yeast, water), Beef Suet, Apples 6%, NUTS 6% (PECANS, HAZELNUTS & ALMONDS), Cherries 5% (glucose-fructose syrup, citric acid, colour E127, preservative SULPHUR DIOXIDE), Orange and Lemon peel 3% (glucose-fructose srrup, salt, preservative SULPHUR DIOXIDE, citric acid), Carrots, Oranges zest and juice, Lemons zest and juice, mixed spice.
We would like to stress that our products are made in a kitchen where nuts are used.
Reheat by steaming, boiling or even in the microwave, and serve with our Alnwick Rum Butter and/or a creamy white sauce with a generous dash of Alnwick Rum!
